So, how much does piano tuning cost?
The truth is, that depends upon what I have to do. I charge by the hour, so pianos that are well maintained, generally, cost less to service.
I charge a service call fee that depends upon where you live. The farther I have to drive, the more I charge. Add to that, the time I spend working at $76.00/hr and you have my fee.
Normally, pianos that are well maintained require 1.5 hours, give-or-take. That would mean about $114.00 plus the service call fee. Service calls on pianos that I have not seen before often range between 1.5 and 3 hours. That’s $114-228.00 plus the service call fee.
Occasionally, a piano requires more extensive repairs and costs more to get up and running. I will give you a verbal estimate after I have sized up the piano. If my terms are acceptable, I will proceed; if not, I will charge my minimum fee of $38.00 plus the service call fee. The minimum charges will also apply for pianos that I deem not to be serviceable.
I accept cash and checks for payment. I’m sorry, but I cannot accept credit cards or other electronic payments.
